Building envelope consulting for a heat pump retrofit project at a multi-residential condominium building - Highlights:
As Engineer-of-Record we provided building envelope consulting for heat pump installations for 15 units. We adapted our building envelope penetration details to the various cladding types at the building - natural stone veneer and fiber cement claddings to ensure the existing building envelope is not negatively affected. Our design catered to both client and contractor needs, specifying building envelope components based on site conditions like weather exposure, ease of installation and aesthetics, without compromising quality. We ensured that the installations met building code requirements, minimized ongoing maintenance requirements by implementing redundancies, and made reactive adjustments to the design throughout the project to simplify the installation process for the contractors and reduce disruption for the owners. We believe successful projects rely on treating all stakeholders—contractors, owners, and managers—fairly and equally. Imperial Engineering strives to consider everyone's interests, with quality as the ultimate collective goal.
